Kappa Delta ’til the day I Die!

Joining a sorority is something I’ve always wanted to do. The leadership, sisterhood, and community service all sounded great to me! Those are all things I love and wanted to be a part of. Last week I went through formal recruitment at Wayne State and I found my home. Kappa Delta felt comfortable from the beginning but as the week went on I fell more and more in love. The first day pulled me right in when we talked about philanthropies. Our philanthropies are Prevent Child Abuse America and Girl Scouts of America. I am really looking forward to making an impact through these organizations. The preference ceremony sealed the deal for me on the last day of recruitment. The love and support in that room brought me to tears.

The last few days have solidified that I made the right decision to run home to Kappa Delta. My sisters have shown me nothing but love, support, and compassion. The active members have been so willing to answer questions and be friends with the new members. My pledge class has already grown close through our retreat, lunch dates, and homecoming festivities. It is hard to put into words how much happiness Kappa Delta has brought me already. I can’t wait to see what the next few years bring.

New College Chapter

This week I started my sophomore year at Wayne State University. I have had an amazing week. It started out with a huge campus wide event called Festifall. Festifall is an event where students get the opportunity to explore all that WSU has to offer from clubs to university departments. They all have tables and give out tons of free stuff! I had the opportunity to represent WSU HOSA as the chapter’s Vice President. The event went great, we had over 200 students show interested in HOSA.

Wednesday I started attending classes. I had a great time and all my professors are fantastic. I can already tell this semester is going to be my best one yet. Everyone in my classes was so nice and friendly. Heck, I made friends on the first day! Walking around on an urban college campus was much difference than my previous college experience. There was so much going on and so many people. I thrived off all the energy. It was a great start to the fall semester! I am looking forward to all the opportunities I am presented with during the upcoming months.
